Are You Feeling the Effects of Trauma in Your Life?

Many people come to therapy with issues such as relationship problems, depression, anxiety, panic disorder, and substance abuse only to discover that traumatic experience has been the catalyst for their symptoms. They are often grateful that they have an answer and a solution!

I have seen my patients' lives transform as a result of trauma resolution therapy. It is so rewarding and meaningful to use my training and experience to help facilitate recovery and growth in people.

Psychoanalysis

It's my belief that the psychoanalytic method is the foundation upon which all modern psychotherapeutic techniques are built upon. At its core, the goal of psycho-analytic work is to make what has been unconscious, conscious. This helps you to understand the deeper emotional and psychological reasons for your behavior, which is deeply empowering.

Somatic Experiencing

This method focuses on body sensations in order to recognize, track and release energy in the nervous system that is stuck as a result of a traumatic experience. In session, I may ask you to notice what happens in your body as we're talking. This initiates a process that shifts your awareness away from thoughts and brings awareness to the body; helping to activate the body’s innate ability to heal. We'll discuss the techniques of Somatic Experiencing so you begin to internalize it and make it your own.

Trauma Recovery

I've had great success using the combination of Psychoanalysis and Somatic Experiencing to help people recover from traumatic experiences. I apply psychoanalytic principles to recognize defenses, transferences, projections and internalizations that can show us the roots of many mental health issues. The somatic work is always present as well as we join the emotional processes with the physical processes to help heal mind and body. In our work together, you'll learn tools that you'll be able to use for a lifetime.
